Very interesting. I loooooove okra. And grits . And sweet potatos. I fI could just cut down on the red meat. I love that too.
Didi just showed me a report which stated....
"A recent cohort study carried out in the United States found that men eating a Southern dietary pattern (characterized by eating okra, grits, cornbread, beans, rice and sweet potatoes) experienced 40% less prostate cancer than those not eating such a diet."
Now, that is something I can live with (pun intended)....country boy can survive.....

Venison is red meat and almost as good as crappie fillets. Sweet taters (baked & fries) are great table fare. Fried okra & pickled okra are good anytime. Even eat it raw
rolled in salt & pepper served in a cold salad smothered in Ranch dressing. And now I'm droolin' on the keyboard. Never acquired a taste for grits but was raised on
cornbread and milk fresh from the source. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

Well, I guess I'm a southern boy too, cause I like all of those things, especially the okra, grits, cornbread, beans, rice, and sweet taters. LOL.
The Lord is good. His mercy and love endures forever.
I bet fried fish and cracklins help too.
Cracklin cornbread is really good too.
