Started fishing with Little George s 40 yes. Ago. Good idea.
I recently have been fishing with Little George spinner lures for crappie and have been having GREAT success at catching while trolling at about 1 mph. I will be buying more to stock up!
What other types of lures do you use to catch crappie that work?

1/8oz. Tiny Trap, pink and black or Bleeding Shinner color. Cast past your marker bouy, let it sink to the depth you think the fish are at and bounce it back to the boat slowly. I'll slowly lift my rod tip then drop it while reeling up the slack, they normally catch it on the fall!
I like Little George spinners too...
Crappie, specs, freckles, slabs...call them what ever you want! I'll just call them delicious!
Bitsy minnow by strike king is good when there shallow. And spoons at night on dock lights. Also C.D. Rapala are always in my box.
I enjoy drop shot rigs. Two light wire hooks. Maybe a colorful fly or a gulp minnow. It is good on bottom, cast and swung back to the boat or a little jiggling.
Beetlespins & Roadrunners are both good options.
If you can find them, a hard lure called a HotShot is really tough to beat. You want the smallest size and it will have one small treble hook. It is a lipped, diving plug. 'Small' is why it is so good. Plus, if you are slow-trolling, most any small jig or the 1/16-1/32 BeetleSpin will work fine. Personally, I like the BeetleSpin body alone, without the spinner. For some reason, the cataba (sp) green color has always been best. But, then, nearly everything in the water has some green in it, too.

'A dry jig catches darn FEW crappie!!'
kastmasters
Yep, I agree. The small Kastmaster spoon is good too. It is really tough on white bass.

Great choices all. I did a run with Kstmaster trolling with carolina rig on each pole and was catching them left and right. They love those lures I found as well.
