Are you referring to trying to get a depth reading out in front of the boat? If so, I've never seen that, but it sounds interesting.

I saw a boat at Reelfoot that had a transducer attached to the trolling motor shaft facing forward. He used it to look ahead at the stumps and the fish around them.

Well, on our old blue boat (72 Cherokee) father in law made one from a bent (curved at end with transducer) 1/2 inch conduit. It pivoted at the bow and folded back (10 foot) along the gunnel. Worked good except in real rough water. This was the norm in the late 70s-80s here on Ky lake. Some may remember these rigs.

I probably have some old pictures at lake house. I am down with broke toes at present. Chair walked out and tripped me.

Hey Ricky, I have seen this setup on Reelfoot. Might post it on the Tn. board. I do not have a pic.

I have seen a transducer taped to a 2 liter bottle and the bottle taped to a pipe extended from the front of boats.

Jason Golding at Lakeway Archery in Grenada uses this set up all the time when spider rigging. Has a bracket that he slides a long piece of conduet through and is just out past his poles, by the way he fishes with 16 footers if not mistaken.

There are several folks that still do it on Reelfoot. I had it set up on my last boat, it works pretty good. I run 12ft. B n m Poles and had my transducer on a 12 ft pole.

    I need pix...

I've just built a custom da'ducer apparatus® with this idea for a guy from TN...

I need to see if I'm anywhere close...

If this idea is still being used...I may have another da'ducer apparatus® model available...
