    Default DIY marker bouys

Hey fishing gets expensive, so to save money and because I'm tired of losing them I decided to make my own marker bouys.

    Materials:
    Pool noodle (any color)
    Masonry twine
    1oz. Egg sinker
    3" galvanized nails

    Cut noodle into 7" sections
    Cut twine into 50' lengths
Wrap twine around center of noodle, I melted o groove with a lighter first.
Tie egg wieght to twine (I used 2 1oz weights)
Insert 2 nails on both ends of noodle to counter wieght the bouy so that it stops spinning when the weights hit the bottom.

    I made 4 bouys for $5

    Your welcome!
Crappie, specs, freckles, slabs...call them what ever you want! I'll just call them delicious!

Haven't tested them in high winds, but 5-10mph they seem to do fine.

Pool noodles at dollar store = a buck each, I use a piece of steel rod 6" long 1/4" dia for counter weight and a decoy anchor for the weight. They hold well and other than seeing one get sucked into a jet ski never had one move more than a foot. BTW, the 340# main line trot line cord stopped the jet ski in about 300 yards or maybe that decoy anchor was the culprit. Never went over to find out.............
