Default First fishing with the grand daughter and report on the new 33

Finally got our first fishing trip in for this summer!!! Also a report on the new redesigned Zebco 33. The wife and I got her a Sterns neo-prene life jacket for this year instead of the old bulky style ones

Changed the line on it and put Trilene XL 6 lb. test and it worked great!!!!!!! There was no jamming up in the cone and the line cast like a rocket!! The changes to the cap and inside line pick up spindle are very smooth and it's going to make the 33 a good reel to have again if they don't change it again.

Here's a couple pics - needless to say we had a great time!!!!!!!!!!

Using the new pole and reel

And a few of the fish

WTG!!! Can't wait for my granddaughter to experience a similar excursion, maybe next year. Looks like we'll be getting her the same 33. Thanks for the review and report.

That is too cool. Reminds me of taking my daughter fishing at that age. She is now 25 and we are getting ready to plan her wedding in a few months. Time flies so get in all the fishing trips you can with her. I am definitely looking forward to grand kids.

Thanks - all the afternoon storms last week kept us from going after her swimming lessons so hopefully the weather man is wrong for the middle of this week and we'll take off and go every day!! Sent the pics to her Mom out in Michigan, and crp they do grow up fast!!! Can't believe my daughter just turned 30 and the grand daughter will be 7 in Oct.

When I took my daughter fishing I always had to take two tubes of crickets. One to fish with and one for her to "Set Free" and play with. She was my hunting and fishing buddy until dating came along and then college. She still goes to the lake with her mother and I when we go boating on our deck boat.
