    Default I-Pilot remote battery

Mine died. I started having trouble getting the remote to wake up. Then finally the battery symbol showed up on the remote. OK, now just find a battery.

I looked at all the posts about the battery needed to replace the one in the remote, and was having trouble finding the 2450N battery. So I looked in the remote to see what it came with, and it had a Sony 2450 in it.

I found the spec sheets on several of the batteries in the 2450 series. Dimentionally they were the same and the current ratings were in the ballpark on several of the batteries.

I ended up with an Eveready 2450 as it was the only one I could find locally at Wallmart. So far it seems to work just like it is supposed to. I guess time will tell.

Anyone else use this one, or had any issues with any specific brands?

The one that came in mine from the factory was a Renata CR2450N....... I found some just like it at Amazon.com .....The N means it has a small rim on one side...The rim helps it stay tight in the holder in the remote.

That is the one I initially looked for, it was not available locally and I didn't feel like trying my luck with some online seller that I had never heard of before. It seems that Amazon doesn't fill any battery orders themselves.

If I could have found one sold and filled by them, I may have got it online.

Is yours the new style? I wonder if the newer remotes don't need the "n" battery. If it did, you would think it would come with one in it, like yours evidently did.

My manual sounded like anything except Panasonic would work.

Yes, mine is the newer updated one.

I just wondered if MinnKota had enough feedback from people that they made some changes to the battery compartment too.

The new remotes do not require the 2450N battery.
