Default Yes crappie can be caught when gar are present!

Pulled crank baits this morning with pretty good results. Great day for pulling cranks as it was overcast and there was a good breeze. Caught 9 white bass, 3 nice crappie, 3 1/2# largemouth, 3 blue catfish (largest about 4#) and a 50-55 inch gar. Did not want the gar in the boat, net too small anyway, so was able to get my crank bait back by snagging it with my net. One crappie was caught just before the gar hit and with in probably 50 feet of where it hit. Not the first time catching crappie with the typical 'swirl' of the gar in the same areas. I did not keep any fish this morning, but did take pictures. Can anyone give me some help with that? Have done so in the past, but do not remember the exact process, still have some on in my 'attachments'Thanks,Husker

Sounds fun I still want to try the cranks out. They look good in the tackle bag.

we use to fish close to gar as they were feeding, the crappie hung out under them and fed on there scraps as they fell, did good up by the sewer drain on the gravois as memory serves.

Crappie fishing in the Mississippi River chutes back home, gar were just part of it. Man they are tuff on spider rigging!
