Default Mark Twain with the kids.

The wife and I are thinking about taking our 2 young kids to Twain next week for 1 or 2 days. This will be their first trip on water larger than a conservation lake. I'm really wanting to make sure they have fun so they want to go again. Figured we would try the 107 bridge piers. If anyone has any info that would help me get the kiddos on the fish it would be greatly appreciated.

those bridge piers can be a blast! if I were bring kids up just to catch a bunch of fish that's where I would go. just watch out for pleasure boats and lake lice. they will get pretty close to ya when fishing at the bridges and wake the heck out of ya!

Ya. Figured we would fish the piers early and late and then try to find somewhere a little less popular.

If you're putting in at 107 or Route U, you could run up around the bend and fish the run of trees above the discharge...... We catch a lot of fish in that area, but only (1) real day have we ever caught slabs. It's a nice area where the lake lice can't really get to ya all that bad and lots of timber if you plan on drownin minners under a cork for the kids.

Well we got a bit of a late start, but hope to be at the lake between 9 and 10. Heading up with the wife, kids, and a buddy. If you see a 20 ft camo xpress with a 115 mercury optimax on the back stop and say hi. Probably gonna start on the piers at 107 or southfork. Try to get the kids on the fish right away.
