Default Arkie Crankbaits and ScottV's Pushing Weights

Make for a lethal combo, was on Enid today running cranks around 17 or 18 foot deep catching a few fish. I noticed on the DF that I was starting to mark some fesh down around 25 foot or so, dug out some of Scotts pushing weights and the box with the Arkie Cranks in it. Put one out with 50 foot of line out running 1.8 MPH, according to Scotts calculations that would put the bait in the 25 foot range, he was spot on too. Didn't take long and I had one on, first time I have ever targeted crappie with a crankbait that deep but it sure was nice to have it in the arsenal. Finished up around lunch with 15, let the fleas have it.

I've got to learn how to fish that way, esp this time of year. Thanks for the report!

Nice job and great report on the cranking. I have yet to try the weights.

Mr Rees Guide do you change the Hooks out on your Arkie Cranks? If so what size hook is best!!! Arkie makes some great products!!! Not trying to advertise!!! You were a Arkie for a little while

I read somewhere that for pullin arkie baits do as you would for bandit 200 has anybody tried to PULL arkie s this way. I need a depth chart for arkies for Pullin. I am not setup to pull.

I don't think they will run deep as a 200 Bandit. Doesn't matter how you are set up, you can add weight to put em where you want em.

How far up are you putting the weight? I've tried a few times and never got a bite, at same time rods out the back were catching.

About 3 foot, I did the same this morning. Pushing pole caught 3 of the 15 keepers yesterday, only had 9 this morning and the pushing pole never got a bite. Sometimes it makes no difference and sometimes it makes all the difference.

There is a post on here somewhere from the owner of arkie. He said that the cranks straight out the box run similar to bandit 200. He said add a 1/2 oz weight 3 ft above the crank and they will run same depth as bandit 300. Hope that helps
