    Default Sunscreen Protection

I did quite a bit of research on sunscreens for fisherman in particular. One kept coming up again and again. So, I bought a tube at WalMarts for about $9.00 a few months ago. It's manufactured by Neutrogena and is called, "UltraSheer" Dry Touch Sunscreen. It's a broad spectrum protection cream, rated as SPF 70.

I've been using a mesh brimmed hat, as you folks must know by now from some of my recent picture posts. My receding hairline exposed my forehead to burning from the sun through the mesh top of this hat. The past two months I've been using this stuff regularly and the protection appears to be working. I apply it to my face, neck and forehead before going fishing. It's a white cream and you have to rub it in so it doesn't show, but it's not that hard to do. I think it's worth it so far; especially since I've already had hunks of meat cut off my body due to skin cancer.

I also use sun gloves, which I thought I'd never like, but am getting very use to them now. I can cast and fish as usual with nary a thought about them.

So, for some of you that spend a lot of time outdoors, you might want to invest in a tube of this sunscreen for your own well-being. The gloves wouldn't be a bad idea either folks!

Good info. and I too have had places cut on and the one thing we all need to remember is to REAPPLY EVERY TWO HOURS!! This is the only thing I was'nt doing but I am now....I don't wear the gloves but I might start.
FAITH, FAMILY, FRIENDS & FISHING...... hopefully in that order but honestly, not always!

I use it too for the same reasons. I also this summer started using the gloves and I tried a pair of the sun sleeves and love them! The ones I got actually keep you cooler which I was skeptical of but I noticed it the minute I put them on! At 60 yrs old now I don't really care what I look like out there as long as I'm out there!!

I Carry a backpack with me everywhere I go. I have a bottle inside it. In my boat I keep at least one bottle if not more (plus the backpack).

I'm thinking of wearing a glove (like nitrile) when applying. I always wonder if one day it will effect the bite and the fish won't like the taste of SPF-80.

No receding hair line for me. My Skin overtook it along time ago!

Have a friend that swears putting some type of Hawaiian tropic sunscreen attracts the fish. He uses it like bait scent on Grenada. Either he's a bad friend and pulling my leg, or it works.
