yep you got the sickness, welcome from Ga.:D :D
Just wanted to thank everyone on here for all the great info. I have not been Crappie fishing in over 30 years. I read all the articles and a lot of the messages. Took what I learned and went fishing with the wife on Brices Creek in New Bern NC and caught 41 Crappie with most in the 10" to 14" range. Now it's Monday and I am back at work and just want to be fishing.

Nice job! I am sure now you will be crappie fishing every chance you get. Nothing like relaxing out on the water catching some tasty fish.

Welcome KenH
Sounds to me like you are developing an incurable case of MCD =Mad Crappie Disease.

ken welcome - I travel to Morehead City quite often as in-laws reside in that area - if I know I am headed that way might try to line up a crappie trip - I always have to stop at Neuse Sports Shop every trip
with my mind on crappie and crappie on my mind -
and if ya'll see Goober later tellem I said duh huh - he'll know what ya mean!!!!!!!!
I'm still learning to fish again been fishing for bass and crappie mostly. I'm fishing the Brices Creek area. It has the blackest water I've ever seen. Up untill this weekend I've only caught one or two crappie at a time. This weekend I did pretty good. The wife went out with me after it warmed up and she did quite well also.
I know we have good fishing all around me just alot different than where I fished as a kid(Peidmont Lake in Ohio) I have no friends that fish so have been learning the methods from the internet.
I have never been Neuse Sport Shop I have been going to Field and Stream Sports In New Bern.
If anybody has any tips for this area please let me know

Ken,
Welcome to the board. You'll definitely find lots of good info here.
As you are probably aware you are really close to some of the best offshore fishing on the east coast. Something else worth checking in to.
Good luck down there.
