Truman Thursday evening
My neighbor has been wanting to go for some time and finally got some free time. He works for BNSF Railway and spends a lot of time on call. I used to.
Anyhow we ran to Bucksaw as soon as he got in from work, put in at 5:30. Got some minners and the word at the marina was flats in 8-10 FOW. Ran down to the cut through and hit the tree lines on the flats, 86° water temp., no air movement, caught two just legal crappie. Decided to move, ran on down to G16 and worked both sides in the cove. Hardwood or cedar made no difference, it was tough. We ended up with 4 crappie and two hybrids. I caught the last crappie and it was 13", biggest of the bunch.
We didn't see another boat once we got away from Bucksaw. There were about 10 pontoons around there, several were just in party mode.
Not great but we went fishing and that is what counts.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
