I just placed an order for 21 Arkie cranks, an order for two new okuma15 reels, 2 new BnM pst trolling rods and tips (I have 3 16ft'ers now) I ordered an 8ft'er and a 12fter,I ordered 3 500yrd spools power pro 10lb test.......... lol just more fishing gear not really all that impressive of a purchase or anything like that.................

I just went back to work today I had the money to buy everything prior to going back to work but well you all know money should only be spent on bills and necessary items when not working

I would stay away from gambling until your luck changes but you bought some good equipment.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I need to do something. All but one of my crank baits are hung up somewhere in the cow pasture here.

I need to get a few myself at some point, but Toledo Bend makes me think it may not be a great idea. Still I do want to try this.

I ordered some 8 footers sight unseen after recommendations and they're a little on the light side for pulling cranks IMO. I used them for the first time over the weekend and just a medium diver put a pretty good bend in them. I hooked a 5 lb drum on one and it just about doubled the rod in half. The longer ones may be more substantial, I don't know. We get a lot of bycatch here and I'm afraid to see what a big largemouth or double digit catfish will do to one of them.

I'm still not sold on braided line yet. It's what I'm currently running and if one crank even touches another line, you've got a mess on your hands. The braided line is grabby and by the time you get the bait to the boat, it's wrapped itself around the other line a million types while turning cartwheels. You don't get that nearly as much with mono.
