Default What kind of plastics are you using for crappie?

We just got a ton of new Southern Pro baits in today and have been significantly building out our crappie selection in the past few weeks!

What else are you guys using that we do not carry?

For many, many years I used the standard 2" curly tails on 1/16 oz. jig heads. Caught a lot of crappie, bluegill, bass, northern pike and trout on them. (Yep, northerns love 2" curly tails!!!) Then I gradually moved into the straight tails - i.e.: Bobby's Baby Shads. I also use solid bodied tubes quite a bit.

What is hard to find these days are 2" curlies in the "motor oil sparkle" color! And I see from your site that you carry the Powerbait grubs. But not the killer color I love - smoke with black flake, again in the 2" size. I haven't spent a lot of time on your site; I promise I will this coming weekend. Thanks.

To be honest, I buy a lot of soft plastics over the years, but for the last 10 years I just buy them and put them in my cabinets because when push comes to shove I will pick my hand tied jigs all the time. Sometimes I will even put several brands of soft plastic in my boat and just never take them out of the storage box. I keep telling my self I need to use some of these, but here I am still with loads of soft plastic baits and I know they work and work well. I also know every bait and color has it's day. Maybe this year at some point I will force myself to put some on, but probably will either be Slab Bandits or some of the many packs of Bobby Garlands. Oh and forgot Zoom Tiny Flukes.

Don't know if you guys cary any of the Slab Bandits, but if not probably should. They last longer on the hook (catch more fish on each bait) than most any other soft plastic. Crazy Angler does a good job with these!

I have a stock of plastics also, twisters and tubes and splittails(trout magnets).I seem to do the best with the splittails, that's what we've always called them here in PA. long before Trout Magnets came out.
