Default Humminbird SI Transducer on Ranger Fisherman 680

    All,

I'm trying to determine the best location to mount the SI transducer. I plan on machining a transducer plate for the transome for any adjustments. I thinking about mounting it where the existing transducer it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

It looks like the drain plug may be in the way. I am looking at buying some 3/4' thick starboard to offset my 798si on the transom. I get some water turbulance when i use the si part.

Drain plug or the wire mesh/filter for the livewell?

    These guys are correct...

As the SI beams radiate out of the sides of the xducer ...it looks like the livewell screen may block some of the left SI beam...

    This leaves a few options...

*Install a thicker mounting board like fishingman mentions to push the HDSI xducer farther away from the transom...
*Install a 2nd HDSI xducer on the port side and use the AS SILR Y cable ...
*Find a way to make the livewell screen not stick out...

It wouldn't hurt to mount the xducer just like you planned and see what developes...

We can always modify after we see the effects in the SI image...
