    Default Minnow Tank

I have a source in my area where I can buy minnows by the pound for a good price. Is it feasible to go to the expense and trouble to rig up to keep them? I know nothing about the process and probably will not fish over a couple times a week. Would someone be so kind to tell me how to rig up, what to use and where to get it if I decide to undertake this endeavor?
    Thanks a lot

I keep a 50 gal aquarium in my garage the whole key to sucsess is clean water, alot of airation,a good filter and don't feed the minnows at all.In summer i add a little ice as needed none clorenated,in winter i use a heater to keep my temp between 60-65 all year round ,they should last 4-6 weeks, It works for me and i hope this will help you.

I have a 100 gallon stock tank. And a pump out of my wifes 30 gallon pond. LOL
Have the pump fixed where it only pumps water up and sprays out a homemade spray bar.
I keep minnows in it all winter long. At times it will even freeze up and they still make it.
Plan on burying a 200 gallon tank in the ground and pump the water under ground also. That way its getting cool weather all winter long.

    Default My tank

This is My tank, simple but it works, I do need a filter system, where can I get a pump like you used on yours?
The tank holds 300 gal, I use half a tank and change it about 3 weeks, pretty nasty! It will keep 5 pounds easy till the temp gets to 65 deg.
    sorry about the blurred pic's

Keeping in mind and going hand in hand with Rango's set up, this is what I came up with. I had access to a free Ice box like you see in front of 7-11 stores so I used that. I purchased a garden pond pump, some PCV fittings and pipes, made a filter using a bucket, some lava rocks, and some batting material. Working good for now. Have had a couple lbs. of minnows in it for a few weeks now and only lost a doz. or so which I think is acceptable. Only changed about half the water out of it once so far.
