Why? I am curious about these new "anchoring" TM's myself. I have talked to one who said his Ipilot would get off as much as 50 feet from the anchor point. I've read where one with the Xi5 said he never left the brushpile, he also said he had fished both brands and the Xi5 was smoother correcting too. I've read and heard both sides being very happy with theirs. I'm not locked into a brand, I've used both and have been happy with MG and MK, but if I'm spending that kind of money for a feature I want to know it works. I hope this post doesn't come across the wrong way, just would like to hear real world experience.

I have owned 2 MK Terrovas & just bought the MG Xi5. I am interested in Anchor(Spot) Lock only. Neither Terrova would come close to the Xi5 in holding you over brush.

If you are a troller, spider rigger, or crank bait puller go with MinnKota.

If your interest is Anchor Lock, go with the Xi5.

    Agreed Don
I have the minnkota Terrova with I pilot on my tracker works good. Don't think it was ever 50' off the mark
Put the Xi5 on my ranger it is waaaay better the same brush pile kept comming up on the screen as I was testing it out
Much smoother operating very quiet I like it
I do miss the screen on my Terrova remote I did not realize how much I look at the power setting to decide how much I wanted to bump speed up or down

I-Pilot Link & Lakemaster feature. Great for trollers. MK may have a weeeeeeee bit better quality. Built heavier.
