    Default Smithville 5/30...

On the lake by 7am... Already muggy. Had heard reports that fish left the banks so I fished the 1st cove south of W where I could cast to the banks or tightline without moving the boat. Minnow under slip float, minow tightlined, chartruse/black slabslayer jig cast to shore and reeled all the way to boat. Nada. Narry a bite. Tried Crow's Creek arm where we sank brush. Nothing. Swim beach coves... Nope. Along the rip rap where W crosses Owl creek. Nothing there, either. Shore fishermen just shrugged when asked about catch.

Hopefully the fishing will improve once they start stacking up in the timber .
