25 HP Evinrude E-tec or Merc. Optimax

Does any one know whether Evinrude or Mercury is thinking about coming out with a 25 HP E-tec or Optimax in the foreseeable future?

I know that Mercury wont be coming out with a 25 opti.They did come out in 06 with a EFI 25 fourstroke, that is the most awesome 25hp Ive ever seen.

Yes, Evinrude is planning to discontinue the Johnson line and build the E-Tec all the way to the little stuff. The latest intel report is showing very short life for Johnson outboards.

I use to own a 25hp Evinrude but, not the new EFI. It was a good motor for me. Never gave me any problems. I now own a 25hp Yamaha 4 stroke and like it even better. You can't even hear it run. Killer gas milage also.
