Default Week trip in October help.

What would be your top 2 or 3 picks for a place to go to for a week of camping and crappie fishing in October in one of these states AL. MS. GA. or TN. Me and my dad are going to go for a week in October just looking for suggestions for places that would be best for catching a bunch of fish that time of year.

I am very biased, on Kentucky Lake the Crappie can be found at all depths in October. Many come back as shallow as a couple of feet in October. I fish it year round and love trolling cranbaits this time of year, but in October the bite on Cranks is still very good as well. Leatherwood Resort or Paris Landing are great areas to check out.

Ms. Stay in cabins at Enid if available or in Batesville Ms on I55. You can fish Enid, Sardis to the north and Grenada to the south. Both just a short drive. October fishing should be great.

We have actually discussed that exact plan. Also talked about camping at the park behind the dam at Sardis that way we would be close enough that we could fish Enid if the fishing seemed to be better there and could fish behind the dam at Sardis if the wind was blowing to hard to fish the main lake. We have never fished either lake so I am sure there will be some time spent trying to find the fish and which way to fish to catch them.

I like your plan. It keeps your options open to a new adventure.
