5/19/14 Alum creek

Fished Alum for the first time ever ..... Very nice lake..... Upper end was muddy, lower end pretty clean..... Caught a few small saugeye on the lower end ..... Fished extremely shallow water on the upper end and caught crappie, mixed bag blacks and whites ( mostly whites ) ..... Water temps 64 to 68 ......biggest crappie was right at 12in.... A lot in the 10in range..... Very nice lake , will be back in the fall if not before then

Fished alum again today.... Bite was better than yesterday vert jigged thick brush and threw jig-n-bobber.....

JGJ, get your butt up to my lake GLSM. #'s won't be pretty but you'll have a solid supper by night's end. We haven't caught many under 9"s yet this year. And the LM bass are inhaling the small jigs we usually have tied on. I fished for 20 minutes last Sunday helping my pops get the boat out and caught 9. Biggest was 11.75 and probably pushing close to 2 lbs. More than a slab, a pig! Smallest was just under 9 but still had a hard time putting it into our measuring holster. Chunky and broad. My wife says the look just like me.

We found them out about 3 feet from natural cover. No luck with docks or man made structure, I think due to spawn. Temps were 60.8 in our channel. Bass tourney guys were claiming 56-65 degrees depending on channel and main lake. 130 boats I think this past weekend.

Spooner ..... I'd love to go to GLSM.... I'm stuck in Dublin this wk for some work stuff so I pulled the boat up for the eve's..... Griggs and Oshay is close but high and nasty ..... Alum is a beautiful place... It fishes how I like to.... Females are shallow at Alum right now.....will make it to GLSM soon as I can, haven't been there in forever..... Wish I was still at Erie to be honest
