Sounds like a good day
Got to Milford at Farnum Creek today about 7:30, took buddy and his son. Things didn't pop like we hoped, but we still caught some crappie and had very good weather. Hardly any wind made things fun. Didn't catch hardly any crappie shallow. Most were out about 12 FOW almost on the bottom. Our best crappie were on chartruse hair jigs with minnows. Along the way, caught little smallmouth, wipers on the jigs and small blue cat on a bigger chartruse tube with minnow. So the 11 year old on the boat had fun checking out those other fish. Brought home enough for supper, Brad.

springhill- saw this on the "Cooking Crappie Forum" and thought I'd try it. Worked out good, no problem with the scales...most came off on the grill I think.
"No need to scale fish. Cut the filet off, leave ribs in. Season as you like. Grill skin side down, watch the meat side. When it goes from wet look to dry it is done. Hold it in your hand skin side down, take spoon and remove ribs(They come out real easy), eat the meat and throw the skin/scales away. Got this from Babe Winkleman years ago." posted by raporter.
