Default Danger! Hazardous to Crappie if you watch this!!!!

Longlining with Slider Grubs on Youtube. Filmed with Roper Outdoors and Charlie Brewer Jr. shows the combination of using sliders with planner boards. Great 7 min video as Jarod Roper narrates!!!!!!!!!

If its the one I just watched by searching "longlining slider grubs" I didn't like it. It was just a bunch of fish being reeled in by a guy sitting on a cooler. Wasn't informative in the least bit.

Sorry to be a critic, just throwing my 2 cents in.

I don't profess to know much about planer board trolling, but after watching the video I have to wonder why they don't have a EGO Reach Net in the boat

They didn't show losing any fish, but one has to wonder ... with them letting slack in the line to disconnect the board, how big a chance does a so-so hooked fish have of getting off ?? With a long handled net ... would they even have to remove the board

Pappy, although there's a chance the fish could get off, cause the boats still moving, there's always tension on the line to the fish. Only if the fish is hooked poorly might you loose one. And you see how long it took Charlie to reel it in, by then the fish is pretty tuckered out to fight all that much more anyway.

I fished with Charlie last week, he's a hoot. Shoulda taken my own video of us trading stories, woulda probably been pretty good.

Wonder why Charlie was reeling them in so slowly? We normally ski ours in when longlineing or pulling cranks and use a dip net. He was dragging them thru the water instead skiing them on top with less resistance.

Just what I was thinking yikess, I'm not up on this type of fishing but seems like it would take a couple of days to catch a limit as slow as he was bring them in.

I fished with Charlie at Big Sandy, on KY lake. I'll have a story on that out soon. Tomorrow the home page will have the story of the first leg of that trip where we fished Reelfoot.

Yikes, from talking to Charlie, I think using planer boards was a new thing for him. So he may not know to put them on plane. I didn't know that at first either. Billbob straightened me on on that. Go figure! lol
