Have not found anything better than the noodles. I cut them to a length that fits in a gallon ziplock bag. I can put 3 in a ziplock and store in a softside bag, keeps them from snagging on something or coming unwrapped. I use a small nail (brad) to stick through the swivel to anchor it to the noodle.

Most I know that pre-tie rigs, will buy the larger (3") size noodles at a local "dollar" store, cut them into several sections, then split them open halfway through, then use zip ties to close them back up.

Why would they do that, you ask ?? These pre-tied rigs are tied with the sinker as part of the rig, allowing for several different sizes of sinkers to be used. The sinkers are pushed into the "split" and the line is wrapped around the noodle until the hook is sunk into the noodle. With the sinker tucked away & held in place by the tension in the split (due to the zip tie ) and the hook tucked away in the foam of the noodle ... the whole thing can be handled, & stored without much fear of getting stuck by a hook point, or having the sinker/leader line get tangled up with anything else. And by using the 3" diameter "monster noodles", each wrap is about 9.5" of leader line, so you're not creating a whole lot of coils in the leader.
