Default Smithville Lake, White cap lake today.

Water temp 57 deg. Very stained to muddy. Lots of wind and lake level low. I could find fish on the sonar but could not get them to bit the hook. I did how ever donate some hooks and jigs to the bottom of the lake with the tree fish. If anyone did some good at Smithville this weekend , how about sharing some pointers.

Sounds like to me your fishing to far south with the 57° water temp.

I went up the arm today near Arnold ramp and got skunkd. Water temp was 62. Wind was terrible. Better luck next time.

May all your live wells be full.

Like Dave said , I have had the best luck on the main lake coves when the water is muddy up river early in the spring . I try to find pre spawn staging areas . Good drop offs just outside of spawning areas with cover such as brush or timber right on a drop off .

Friday afternoon, 6-8 pm, fished from the rip rap where W crosses the Owl Creek. One barely legal male. (Minnow, 4' down, 20' from shore)
