This year for the Social, Freddie Sinclair has volunteered to be in charge of cooking the fish. I know about 3 or 4 years ago I can remember filleting the fish and then eating them. Freddie has suggested that a better idea would be for some of the fishermen that are attending to go ahead and freeze some fillets ahead of time. There will probably be another thread coming from Newly on getting a list of the attendees, but I wanted to go ahead and post this so some of us can go ahead and be putting some in the freezer.
Freddie said to plan on three fillets per person, but with some of the big guys on this website, we may need to plan on a few extra. If you have plenty in the freezer for the family, then over the next few weeks you may want to freeze those extra's for the Social. We want to make sure everyone has plenty to eat and enjoys our time together.

Does that mean we do not expect to catch enough in May to feed everyone?

We didn't have a social last year, but two years ago we caught very few fish that day and fortunately had enough guys bring fish from the freezer. The year before that, we caught enough that day to feed everyone. I remember Jeremy (Cratageous) bringing a bucket of nice slabs and I filleted them. From what we have been catching in the tournaments, we should be able to feed everyone with what we catch that day. But, being cautious, maybe we should freeze some now to make sure we can feed everyone. It also is not as messy. Freddie and I were talking and this is what we thought would be the best way to assure everyone gets some fish to eat.
Here's a thought: Newly is working hard to get some gifts for drawings at the Social. We could add some competition to the day as well. Maybe have a gift for the largest fish caught and something for the biggest stringer of fish caught. Feel free to share ideas of how we can make this a fun and enjoyable day for everyone.

I may do that if I ever catch any fish this spring.
