    Thumbs up Sweet potatoe bisquits

Try this out. These bisquits are some kinda good. I have yet to throw one away.

    2 cups self rising flour
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    7 tablespoons cold butter
    3 tablespoons shortening
1 cup mashed sweet potatoes ( not from a can boil fresh potatoe then mash)
    6 tablespoons milk

In a bowl combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ginger. Cut in 4 tablespoons of butter and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. In another bowl combine sweet potatoes and milk, then stir into the crumb mixture just until combined. Turn onto a floured surface and kneed 8-10 times. Roll into 1/2 inch thickness, cut with 2 1/2 inch bisquit cutter. Place onto ungreased baking sheet. Melt remaianing butter and brush onto dough. Bake at 425 for 10 -12 min or until golden brown.
