Yes I have, but I have changed it to a jig (1/4oz) on the bottom in place of a sinker. I really only use this in the summer daytime and night. Only time I use minnows is then.

I started off using the same drop shot rig as bass guys use and then I started using a loop knot for the minnow and am thinking of going back to the in line minnow hook on top. With the loop knot many time you will not feel the crappie on the minnow, but you always feel the jig hit and normally the jig catches the bigger fish.

HEY SKIP, WHEN YOU SAY LOOP KNOT DO YOU MEAN THAT THE HOOK ISN'T PERPENDICULAR TO THE LINE, BUT JUST HANGING LOOSE?

I did a lot of drop shoting for crappie when I was in California (due to the clear water and the depth they were at). Did the same rig as you would do with bass. Did fairly well, even caught them when I was bass fishing since the baits aren't to big.

Actually I started using a small 3-way swivel and having a loop that was about 6"-8" long with a crappie size hook (I use a drop shot hook or a circle)(#1 or #2 size hook) and then a jig tied on at least a 18" line.
