    Default Hey Darryl

    Hey Man,

I enjoyed our trip today. We are fortunate to have several lakes nearby that produce crappie like the ones we caught today. I sure am glad Hamilton has finally turned on for us.

Nice bunch of fish. And you know as long as your not on ESPN people will not cover the lake up.
To me less people means nice trip and not fighting with a crowd.

    Hey Skip:

It's not that far! Come on up sometime and we'll go after them. I'd like to get down your way sometime and give Toledo Bend a try. I have quite a few clients that have fished that lake and I've heard a lot about the great crappie fishing there.

    Hey Pete:

Yea, there are some advantages to having several lakes around that don't have much fishing pressure. I've heard about places where you could walk from boat to boat across a spawning cove in the spring. That's not for me. It's been a long time since I've had even one other boat in the same cove I'm fishing.

Well brother, you make some really good points. Every time I get the urge to honk that horn I just can't bring myself to do it because I remember the real reason I visit and contribute to this site.

Here's one for everyone. "Don't judge my motives, just judge my actions." Or, here's another one. "Actions speak louder than words" or "proof's in the pudd'in."

That's a good mess of little old fish! :D I'd rather go fishing w/ a good friend than an expert that's not-so-friendly. I've learned more stuff about fishing from "non legends" on this website than I have from the so called legends. If I'm ever in Arkansas and have time for a guided trip, I'll be sure to look you fellers up!

That is me. If theres one spot with 50 boats I like to go where the boats are not. and be able to fish.

You bet there's crappie fishing pressure here. Maybe not as much as some lakes but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist here. And, it's really an honor not a frustration when local fishermen follow me out of my cove where I live to see where I'm going to fish.

But more than that, I guess some guides just want everything to fall in their lap and come to them easy. Guides need to be everywhere and deserve to be on every lake in the U.S. But I've worked hard and given up a whole lot to do what I do, where I do it, so it can be done full-time, make a full-time living and provide for my family. My family lives 3.5 hours away and I don't get to see them every night. Yeah, that was our choice and it's no different than business men travelling or truckers doing their job - they're getting it done and away from home. I guess success is only relative to what you're will to put into it.

Oh, and sometimes we catch more than just crappie.
