Upper arm of lake was around 56 deg. Last week did well up there yesterday was very very slow. Very muddy.
Well after managing to get ZERO fish in the boat last week, I've decided to try smithville again tonight. Does any one have any idea if the walleye are still in the dam area? Not sure what water temp is right now. Was 49-50ish last week. Will probably be focusing on the eyes if someone has seen them there recently. Crappie wise I tried some of my deeper ledges and brush with no luck. Also tried a lil shallower for grins and same result. I really dont feel like taking the deep V waaaay up the river. Anyone having any success on main lake? Im so ready for the action to heat up. haven't felt that thump for quite some time.
Thanks for any reports.
Matt

The only crappies I've heard about were the ones up around Plattsburg, but I haven't had any luck for several weeks on the main lake. Don't even know how to fish for the 'eyes, but that might be the best chance for success right now. Main lake was at 52 last time I was there.

Went out today (4/19) and NODDA!! Fished around rock creek cove and Trimble cove, water temp anywhere from 55 to 58.
Thanks for the information. I was not able to make it out today. I have been working on setting my boat up for spider rigging to see how that works at Smithville Lake . Looking forward to better weeks ahead. Thanks, Craig
Was over at Camp Branch this evening trying out my new spider rig set up. Put eight in boat largest 11.5". Two to three hours had a good time.
Good to hear a positive report finally. I don't rig, but still good to hear something is starting up
