Default Guide recommendation for Truman Lake

My husband and I are headed to Truman Lake this weekend for the first time. We are staying at Bucksaw. Any recommendations for a guide?

Might be a lil late to book a guide trip now...I'd call Richard Bowling (660) 351-5361, but I bet he is full. Call Bucksaw marina, Jeff will also put you on some fish. Good luck.

Steve Blake out of Sterett Creek is the man.

I bet Richard Bowling is booked in the mornings for youth turkey season this weekend. You may be able to catch him for an afternoon trip. He is by far the best guide on the lake for crappie. Jeff at Bucksaw will be at Everhart's doing a seminar each day this weekend. So not sure he will be available either. If you have a boat you can easily get out on your own and catch fish. The bite is going good and with the water temps rising it should get even better by weekend.

Thanks so much! We are bringing our boat but thought about hiring a guide for our first outing on Truman. Maybe we will take our chances on finding fish!

I will second that. Fished with Steve last summer and he is a very good guide. I think he could catch crappie on dry land.

If you see any boats with CDC decals on them pull in and ask for advice, most of us will point you in the right direction.
