Fishing at Little Bear

It started out today like most of the time when myself and David Waters gets together. By the time we put our sixteeth rod in the water we were catching crappie. We did that until around 9:00 and we decided to move. The boat would not start. I had lost a cell in my cranking battery and we were not moving far. We had a great time and were able to boat some nice fish. David was able to fish with the new Capps and Coleman rod from B'n'M. He said that was the most stable and he was able to see more baits on that rod than he had ever seen before. Here are some pictures from today.

what kind of reels you got on those poles in the first picture?

Those are the best reels I have ever used. Pflueger is a sponsor of mine and I have used ever reel that they have. The reel has a 6:3:1 ratio and it will get the fish to the top of the water quick. The main reason for the pick of this reel is it light. If you get a chance give one a try. They sell less than 60.00 dollars.

on the business end of your line? Some of those rods have a pretty good bend in them. I tightline most of the time myself using anywhere from 1/2oz to 1oz of weight depending on how deep I'm fishing.

most of the time, if Brad and I are fishing in this area, we are using 2 different rigs. I am a tighline fisherman and will use a 1 ounce bank sinker with a catfish rig (2 hooks), drop shot style of course. THe other way is with a 1/2 ounce bell sinker with some type of hair jig, or tube jig. My favorite is the Southern Pro minnow tube.
