We received word this afternoon that The Valley's Best Country WDRM 102.1 will be joining us Saturday morning for a community service broadcast from 9:30-11:00 am.

Decatur, Ala - The 3rd Annual Hooked on Decatur team bass fishing tournament will be this coming Saturday, March 29th at Ingalls Harbor. Our all-volunteer tournament is unique in that wounded veterans are treated to a boat captain and sponsored entry fee to compete against other amateur fishermen. The boat captains, most of whom are veterans themselves, are also volunteers. Funds in excess of tournament costs are donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Last year, we had 13 vet teams out of 50 total boats and $18,000 was donated.
Thank you for helping us get the word out ahead of the tournament, especially to the local wounded veterans:
If you are a wounded veteran and would like a day on the water, please register through the website or contact Tollin Toler ([email protected]) as soon as possible so that we can start pairing you up with a boat captain. We already have registrants coming from as far away as Millbrook, AL.
Amateur Fishermen/Boat owners who would like to be a volunteer boat captain and have one of our honored guests as a team member, please contact us to qualify.
Local residents wishing to sponsor a wounded veteran boat team can do so by sending a $100 check to Hooked on Decatur P.O. 1421 Decatur, AL 35601.
Same day events also include a LifeSOUTH Blood drive in memory of Jimmy V. Copeland and FREE Child ID Program.
We are excited to have the Morgan County Chapter of the Alabama Cattlemens Association (a not-for-profit organization) join with us for the Hooked On Decatur weekend - 6 days from today!!
This years Chapter President, Robert Dotson, and his cook team will be grilling Ribeye Steak Sandwiches with chips, bottled water or PEPSI (Thank You PEPSI!) and a cookie for $10 with $.50 from each sale going toward the Wounded Warrior Project.
