    Default Dogwood

Saw the state trucks at Dogwood yesterday. Didn't see their boats but the tanker truck was parked next to the water so they must be spraying the weeds again this year. I saw them use pellets in the past and they may be this year as well, but the tanker parked so close to the water makes me wonder if they are using a spray this year.
There were still lots of weeds last year but fewer lily pads. Probaly a never ending job to control.

Love the pads. Why does DNR think they always have to kill them?

Same here,,,don't understand DNR and some of their decisions sometimes. Fishing the pads was always fun as you don't have a lot of lakes with them in it even.

Is the objective to kill the pads or the other weeds that choke that lake?

Pads...DNR every few years would spray the pads but never ever could they kill them out. But,,,I attribute the pads to the abundance of large gills and redears,,and bass...always had lots of open waters for the crappies even tho it never was considered a top notch crappie lake. Now since they sprayed the pads out past couple years,,now they are commenting stunted bass...of course lots of weed beds in the lake too...and they then do away with 10hp limit,,last yr,,and they pulled the running lane bouys out...well it didn't take them about a month of people bitching and slaming all the submerged timber with their big motors running 10 mph and they put the running lanes back in buoyed and marked. Now they are, I guess,,on a mission to kill out the lilly pads with all the fishing pressure they created..there again...ours is not to reason why...ours is but to suck it up and accept DNR's motives.

They pretty much ruined Hardy lake by taking out the pads. Granted Hardy had a lot of grass but I think I would of rather deal with it than get rid of it all.
