    Default Slab Crappie

Could some please tell me the best line brand to use. I see SO many pics of slab crappie and the lures used, but I don't know what kind of line to use.

Depends what you want. Spiderwire makes the best braid IMO, Sunline has unanimously the best fluorocarbon out there and monofilament is a giant toss up. Good luck!

    x2. (Only I call it High-vis yellow.) 10lb test, 2lb diameter.

Unless it's cold weather fishing. Then you might switch to mono.

But I probably shouldn't even respond, since I don't catch "slab" crappie.

I don't catch slabs but I use viscous in 10lb braid and 10lb mono(both in hi-vis) depending on style of fishing.

I never have used braid when vertical jigging. I'm afraid with how much I get hung up that it will fray that braid then snap when I try and set the hook in a fish. I use 6lb Visciuos hi-vis mono...it is tough and is WAY cheaper than braid.

Day in Day out everyday of the year you will catch more fish on Maxima Ultra green 4lb. test. All the others work but there are days the braid ed line doesn't work as well. Maxima is toughest 4 lb. mono out there. Like Beagle 2lb in some conditions. Wonder where he got that idea???

You got 8 answers and 7 different types of line......just like asking the best lure or best color. Just pick one. Don't buy the cheapest or the most expensive. Keep an eye on the line near the bait to watch for signs of fraying or nicks. Then break off a few feet and retie...you'll do fine. Braid is good, mono is good too.
