    During the winter months to see more dead fish than usual? In the past 3 weeks I've seen 5 dead fish 3 crappie, 1 carp and a big channel cat. Just curious.

    Yes, could be winter fish kill, which is lack of oxygen in water, due to extreme cold/freezing in areas of maybe 8-10 feet deep or less, large kill off of weeds using up oxygen no sun able to shine into water as in big build up of snow on ice etc. Winter fill kills vary with the winter the more severe the winter so goes the fish kill. Shad are usually the first victims

    Very informative. Thank you and that completely explains it. It was frozen over for almost a month and it's 11"-12" at its deepest
