    Default Sharpening filet knife

I have been back and forth between electric and regular blade. The electric is great on about 50 fish then the electric blades are so dull they are useless.
I have tried to sharpen a standard knife blade with a cheap double ceramic that you slide the blade through but doesn't do much. How about some advice on sharpening

Use a sharpening steel, keep sharpening the blade after a few fish. Worked for me before I went electric, the knife always stays sharp.

Green and yellow electric, forget the name. Can't hardly get through a rib age after 50 fish. Keep on buying new blades

I use an American angler and same blades for 6 years, and I have cleaned 50 fish in one trip to Kansas.

i use a mister twister electric and every now and then i sharpen from the back, i cant sharpen the serrated edge but the back side is flat. i only fillet them off the bone and only do 6 or 7 at a time, then use a hand fillet knife to cut the ribcage out, mine has been a good one. a buddy had one that didnt last that long either

I don't cut through the ribcages with my electric knife so my blades last a long time. On my regular knifes I use diamond stones.
