    Default Trolling motor transducers??

I'd like to install a HB 788 DI transducer on my trolling motor. Currently my trolling motor has the built-in transducer for my HB 788 (w/o SI or DI). My question is, if I do this will it cause a signal problem due to the transducers being side by side????

I'm pretty sure you can select a different "Digital Depth Source" for the 788 DI unit...

The 788ci HD operates at 83kHz/200kHz for the 2d frequencies...
The 788ci HD DI operates at 455kHz/200kHz for the 2d frequencies...

Look under the sonar tab of the DI unit and see if there is a setting for "Digital Depth Source"...if this can be set to obtain the digital depth from the 455kHz 2d frequency, then there shouldn't be any interference with the 788 HD (the 788 HD gets it's "Digital Depth" from the 200kHz 2d frequency)...

Post back what you find ...(I'd like to even see a screenshot of the menu that shows this "Digital Depth Source" in the DI unit if you can get us one)...

By default the DI model units are set to use the 455kHz to obtain the digital depth. So the unit should be fine right out of the box.

Can't remember which unit I grabbed these from:

In order to use both transducers you will have to run both transducer cables into a switch, unless I'm way off(not unusual!) I would thing you would plug in the new cable from the new transducer and leave the US2 cable unplugged...no interference from a dead cable.

You make a good point Vic...

Fishawk...just to clarify ...are you installing a 788 DI unit and it's DI xducer...??

Or are you just installing a DI xducer and inquiring about using the DI xducer and the US2 xducer on the 788 2d unit...??
