Went to Monroe today to drive and look around. Pulled in at Paynetown and at the ramp, looked as if it was open as far towards the damn direction that you could see. Moores Creek area open. At cutright on HyWay 446 causeway, as far as you could see open water, both sides. Drove to Allen's Creek ramp, looked to be open to the mouth with some ice on far side across from the ramp, but creek has plenty of open water. Water was stained and was white capping. These waves and white capping could be hiding some floating ice. Just don't hit the lake wide open til you are sure. There has to be some big slabs of ice still floating around. Everyone it has been a long winter and we are all ready to get on the water. Just be careful and don't do anything to cause you harm or damage your equipment. You could be out for the season even before you get started.
Thanks for the report. Good to know about Monroe as the walleyes should be cranking on as well as the crappies especially when it comes up a few degrees of warmth.
