Default Eagle Fishmark 480 or Lowrance X-96

I'm trying to decide between a Lowrance X-96 and Eagle Fishmark 480 fishfinder. They are the same price $199 at Bass Pro and Cabelas. They appear to be the about the same unit except for the resolution (320 X 320 for Lowrance and 480 X 480 for the Eagle). Don't know which unit is more reliable. Any opinions on which unit is better?

    Thanks...Dan

Lowrance makes the Eagle. I would go with the higher resolution.

I have an Eagle 320. When it comes on the screen says "Lowrance X 96". Seems like the same program.

Go to www.brokenlegdave.com and his Lowrance x-96 is $185.93. Might save you a little money.

FWIW i was told by basspro this weekend that there are really only 2 differences between the lowrance and the eagle of the same model.
    1. Power (sometimes less in the eagle, but not always)
    2. processor speed. (faster in the lowrance)

I have a Eagle 480 on the front of my boat. And I like it alot. You can watch a 1/32 jig fall under it. It's That good.

Thanks everyone for your input. You helped me make up my mind that the Eagle unit is the better value.
