    Default Curlytail grub question

So when is the best time to fish a curlytail vs a tube jig or a baby shad? What colors work the best? What brands work best? Thanks!

I use them when I'm looking for fish. I cast them to structure, underwater points, or just over deep water then slowly reel them back while twitching the rod every once n a while. I don't have much luck with vertical jigging them.

I saw the stroll'r and several other lures in the fish tank at Bass Pro I think the stroll'r is best for casting or trolling .

When casting, I find bigger crappie hit a curlytail better when the water is around the mid 60's-mid 70's. On either side of this, they seem to prefer a bait with little or no movement. There are exceptions, like last summer when I caught some on a curlytail when water was around 80 degrees.

I use these to pitch my jig to structure and slow retrieve and it drives the crappie nuts to bite!! The lights out version in black/char is magnificent!!!

Use to cast curly tails all the time before I started using paddle tails like sliders etc.
