Default Fish I could not catch :(

Went out to a lake that has big bass and tons of crappie. Weather has been warm has three days and water got up to 45* surface. Conditions seem right for the fish to start turning on. Marked tons of fish but could not catch any.

I tried a bunch of things and just couldn't get them to bite. Started with a small Northland blade bait. Then a 1/16 jig with 2" curly tail and shad. Roadrunner and tube didn't work either. It was windy out so could not go as light as I wanted. I casted and jigged

Pretty frustrating when you know they are there just taunting you.

2d transducer is on trolling motor and Di is on transom.

That's happened plenty to me. Maybe it's me; in the above pics it appears there are little or no bait fish. This to me indicates whether they are actively feeding. This may also indicate that no matter what you presented, it would have minimal results. Just a theory. In the past when I locate fish under bait fish schools, it can be pretty good.

At any rate, this happens to almost all of us. Like a NFL QB, have a short memory and keep throwing!

    Blessings and quality fishing!

Thanks Hoosier. This lake has no shad and no schools of baitfish that I have ever marked.

    Maybe they were Asian carp...

Those echos look a little big for crappie...
