    Hey guys, what reels do yall use for spider rigging? Thanks for all advice.

    'bout any kind you have lying around will work, they mostly serve to hold line anyway. I've got small open face spinning reels on mine.

    lil crappie maxx spin reels at bps hard to beat, on the water and the pocket!

    Here is a good spot for used reels that are cheap. I use nothing but bait casters for durability and the thumb bar release.

    I went on crays suggestion a few months ago and bought the new reels he suggested. I really like them!

    Thumb bars are nice to have when using long poles.

    thumb bar reels are what I use now . Started out with small spinning reels and they work also . Since I fish alone a lot the thumb bar reels will allow for easier netting while using longer poles . jmo
