Cool Bait Hut Just For Fun Tournament

    Greetings from

A head's up to those who will be fishing the Special Olympics tourney at Clinton on April 26th...

The Bait Hut will be hosting a benefit tourney the weekend prior, April 19th to be exact, for the Kaw Valley Quail and Upland Wildlife Federation at Clinton Lake.

For those who've never done this before, the KV-QUWF folks spend the majority of their time helping teach youngsters to enjoy the great outdoors recreational activities Kansas has to offer. In other words, turn off the TV, the iPods, the every electronic gadget known to kids, and learn how much fun being disconnected and outside can be.

What a great way to pre-fish for the Special Olympics tournament.... that's what sez. And yes, there will be free food at tourney's end, along with the usual free raffle of fun stuff for those who fish the tourney.

More details to follow. In the meantime, please put it on your "ta-do" list, Just for Fun.

Sounds like fun to me, already marked the calender. I sure hope the lake is close to normal pool by then, as being 6 feet low has killed the winter bite around the marina. But that leaves more slabs to be caught this spring without the hundreds being taken out by the winter dock fishermen.
    Count me in.

    Default The Details...

So here’s the scoop on the upcoming tourney…. We’ll have the entry form on our website soon. Technical difficulties getting it there at the moment. Rules will also be posted, and if you've fished one of our tournaments before you likely already have them memorized.

April 19, 2014 Clinton Lake State Park Boat Ramp #3 North,
    Takeoff 7:00 a.m. ~ Weigh-In 2:00 p.m.
Pre-entry Encouraged. Day of Tournament entries 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., no late fees, but snooze too long and yer out.

Your Donation of $20 to KV QUWF provides many sportsmanship opportunities for youth, plus Free Food & Raffle at Weigh-In with Lots of Great Prizes!! Remaining $50 entry fee is 100% payout over 5 places (50/20/15/10/5)

Optional Big Fish $10 per Boat 100% payback - 1st Place

Did I mention it’s also a great opportunity to pre-fish for the upcoming Special Olympics tourney weekend??

    Cool Woot!! Woooooottt!!

That WootWoooot!!! is the train pullin' out of the station my fishermen and women. Are you gonna be there?

Take off is at State Park North #3 ramp, according to Zebco Wizard, who never puts a hand to keyboard and expects his WWitch to go forth with news.

Fish, pre-fish, do whatever you must do... but be there. It's the second best day to fish of the week, and is followed by yet another great day on Sunday for special Olympics tourney.

Snow??!!??? It will be gone by then, and we promise better weather, or at least warmer weather. Gotta love Kansas.

Now that was a most confusing sentence, wasn't it? And obviously I don't know how to edit a post. Ahem... let me rephrase...

It's the best day of the week to fish, or pre-fish for another great tourney the following Sunday for the Special Olympics tourney.

Obviously is as confused as the crappie right now.

Hey, Crappie Commander!! Pre-fishing doesn't mean bring your already caught fish to the tourney for weigh-in!
