There are DVD's for fly tying and I can get a link to one if you want, but I taught my self by reading and looking a fly tying web sites on the Internet.

It's all the same and here is a good site to look at the beginner fly tying on this site... http://www.flyanglersonline.com/

They have more advance for when you learn the steps first and get it down on making a nice looking jig.

FYI I hope you want to do this for the fun and not to make a living as I just do it because I like it and am not depending on it to make a living. Not a lot of money in this if you do it right.

Here's a link to a recent thread that has some links to some online videos showing jigs being tied. Good stuff -- http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showth...ighlight=tying

Here is a good starting place, you would have to join, however to download the videos. http://www.flytyingforum.com/index.php?showtopic=10953
They are well done and very informative, Al Beatty did a great job.

Also Dick Talluer has very good videos, You might Google Bennett-Watt Entertainment and click on Hooked On Fly Tying. His DVD's are listed there.

Either place will get you up and running, The first link however is free, I think there are eight or nine videos on that link

    Good luck and happy tying

I'll second the Bass Pro video. It's on sale for $4.88.

I may have to make my own instructional video some day (with narrative). But yeah, as someone has already mentioned.. there are a few videos in a thread I created. There is no instruction narrative, but you can pretty much see what's involved.

skiptomylu makes some nice looking stuff too, pay attention to his tips.

I'll have a new video up sometime tonight. It's a slower, explanatory video. It should help out some!
