need some reel advice

the other day i got a mr crappie signature series reel as a gift (wmr5) and ive read good things about it but i cannot seem to cast it properly. i have many baitcast reels but this puzzles me i have 4 of the slab shakers and abosolutely love them .

so my question is does anyone own or gotten the to chance use this reel before? if so any advice or any kind of fixes to keep it from getting in the cracks of the reel ?

They are not made to cast with, they are made for vertical jigging and trolling.

thanks ! ive been reading but never saw that it said that ,also explains why my buddy gave it to me

Really doesn't mean you can't cast with them.. I'm just saying on the site it says its made for vertical jigging in timber and trolling.
