    Default DIY shallow water anchor

This is similar to the anchor scheme I used when I lived in Florida. I used 10 foot wood closet poles and I used a home made pole driver to set the anchor. I used 2 poles. Works great.

I thought about building something like that a couple years ago but then notice my boat is rarely that shallow long enough to use one

Thanks for the post, That should help a lot of folks that are on a budget and want something different than the traditional rope and anchor!

We did this as kids over 30 years ago before the internet.

I know guys that have been doing this for 30+ years for duck hunting the open marshes. Now its a new high-tech shallow water anchoring system, back then it was a bracket and a pole.

Not to outdo you 30 year pole guys, but I was doing this 50 year ago on lake Jessup or maybe 30 years BC.
