Marabou Minnow...Hey Bob and others on DIY Soft Plastics

Hey Bob,

I have been messing around again and decided to cut the paddle tail off a few of my lures and replace it with a flowing marabou tail. What is your opinion? I took the jelly jig concept and used my minnow body instead of a jelly jig body. Just curious as to what you and the others on the DYI Plastic forum think. I still have to find a smaller tool to do the flared gill flap opening. I think that is still a little large but overall I am liking it. It takes 25 minutes to do four of them. I also need more of a contrtast between the white underbelly and the top body color.

Mike I think they look awesome good job now make up some other colors let me know how they work out for you maybe put a little bit of flash like some crystal in the tail there and I think you'll have the cats meow.

ok. I will post some tommorrow and run it up the flag. Now I know what to do with some of my jig tying stuff since I do not hand tie that much due to arthritis in the hands. Thanks.

Ship, those look fantastic. But I agree with Bob, A couple strands of flash in that marabou and those will knock the socks off them slabs. Keep up the good work, and I'll be watching. can't hardly wait till I get my V.A. check in April, Do-it will be getting part of it, Eric

ship I forgot to tell you about that option when I sold you that mold, that was the first thing I did with it when I got it was to make a marabou tail, it looked good but I only fished it a time or 2 with no success. However at that time I was not really catching fish on anything and I never went back to using or making anymore like it. Yours looks good.
