    Default 4 stroke oil?

I run a yamaha 90 hp 4 stroke motor. I have used yamalube 4 stroke oil 10w30 on previous oil changes. Does anyone know if a regular 10w30 oil would protect the same say a havoline or other brand. Just thinking of cost effectiveness and the ease of purchase, about an hour drive to my local dealer.

Castrol 20w50 purchased from Walmart or parts store. This weight more for the high performance type engine.

    I would run either 20 50 castrol or 10 30 synthetic castrol

there are differences between oils designed to run in automobil engins and 4-stroke outboards,so i just stick with yamalube.i take my own jugs and have them filled from the dealer and it's a lot cheaper that way.
