A big fish challenge will be held on February 14 on Lake Marion, Manning, S.C. Sponsored by Bass Pro Shops, Tracker Marine, Humminbird, Minn Kota, Mercury Motors and the Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce, the big fish challenge will be followed by a one day national qualifier on February 15th.

The seminar for both events will be Thursday February 13th at the Manning High School, 2155 Paxville Hwy, Manning, S.C. with registration at 5:00 PM and the seminar at 6:30 PM. Bass Pro Shops Crappie Masters tournaments are open to the public, membership is required.



The big fish challenge has two divisions. Anglers may fish for crappie, bass or both. Entry of the big fish challenge is $100.00 per person/per division. You may fish with up to 3 people per boat. Weigh in times are 7:00 – 10:00 AM, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Anglers can weigh their big fish at two locations, John C. Land Landing Fishing Facility Boat Ramp, 4404 Greenail Road, Summerton, SC or Carolina King Retreat Boat Ramp, 2498 Belser Rd, Summerton, SC. The awards ceremony will be at 5:30 PM at the John C. Land Landing Fishing Facility.

Anglers will fish from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM for the February 15th national qualifier. The fishable waters are from the Hwy 601 bridge to the Lake Marion Dam. Lake Moultrie is off limits. Anglers must be in the weigh in line by 4:30 PM.

The weigh in will be at the John C. Land Landing Fishing Facility and is open to the public to attend.

A free kids fishing rodeo will be held Saturday morning, February 15th, at the John C. Land Landing. Kids will fish for fun and prizes. Registration will be at 8:00 AM with fishing from 9-10:30 AM. All participants should bring their bait and poles.

The tournament trail will move to Greenwood Lake, Greenwood, S.C. for a one day national qualifier on February 22.
